We do Airbnb because we enjoy creating a comfortable, welcoming space where people can relax and feel at home while traveling with no added stress or worries. What I love most about my rental homes in Tucson is the location. The homes are surrounded by beautiful mountains. One is steps away from downtown, hiking/biking trails, and the best Mexican cuisine around. Airbnb allows me to share this unique community with visitors. I enjoy offering local tips and helping guests experience the area like a local!
Your host, originally from the midwest, has called San Diego home for over 35 years. A business graduate of Northern Illinois University, he also received an MBA from Virginia Commonwealth University. He is an independent Real Estate Broker, and also originated loans. When not selling real estate, he remodels and redesigns it. The Purple Panache is his eighth total renovation. It was designed specifically with the traveler in mind - a comfortable retreat with all the comforts of home, and a bit of mid-century modern whimsy.
Hosting has allowed us to preserve a historic home while staying connected to Tucson, the place where we met and continue to feel at home. Over the years, we’ve watched the nearby Mercado district blossom and flourish, and we value being part of a growing, diverse & vibrant neighborhood.
We’re your hosts, David and Shawn, at Casa Pacifica West in San Diego, and Casa Allan James in Tucson. David loves exploring San Diego by bike — often with their four-legged companion riding along — and starts most mornings walking through North Park as the neighborhood comes to life. Shawn is a devoted foodie and car enthusiast, always seeking out the best local flavors and scenic drives across Southern California. We’re passionate about our homes in both Southern California and Southern Arizona and take pride in creating thoughtful, welcoming experiences for our guests.
